The Millrace Hotel of Bunclody, Co. Wexford, has been sold to Prudent Healthcare Ltd. for a sum that's thought to be a little less than €2 million.
Despite the wish of many residents of Bunclody that the four-storey, 60-bedroom property continue to operate as a hotel, the former McGettigan Group-managed venue, which hit the market with a guiding price of €2 million via CBRE in July of 2017, will be converted into a nursing home by its new owners, reports The Irish Independent.
John Dargan of Prudent Healthcare commented, "The proposed nursing home will provide significant employment in the area during the refurbishment phase and on completion the property will be a state-of-the-art luxurious nursing home facility offering between 50 and 60 beds."
