Castleknock's The Twelfth Hotel Sold

Castleknock's Twelfth Lock Hotel has been sold by private treaty for a price close to €2.5 million to entrepreneur Greg Browne, owner of Browne's steakhouse, De Bruns and Castello Bruno.

The three-star 10 bedroom boutique hotel has 0.46 acres, comprising a lounge bar with terrace, restaurant, a function room for up to 60 people, parking for 44 cars and had an original guided price of €1.8 million by CBRE.

It is understood that the premises will be redeveloped to provide a high quality bar with casual canal side dining as well as a separate seafood restaurant.

John Ryan of CBRE said that the sale generated significant interest from hoteliers, restauranteurs, and publicans given the hotels canal side location and setting.

While in Killester, The Ramble Inn has been sold in a private treaty transaction to a consortium headed by Shane O'Brien, for a cost well in excess of the €525,000 guide price according to CBRE. The property comprises a ground floor lounge bar and a residential accommodation of 5 rooms.
