Carton House, a Fairmont managed hotel, has confirmed that the KPMG Women’s Irish Open will take place at the estate in 2024.
The popular golf event in the Ladies European Tour will be played on the O’Meara course.
Dromoland Castle
The KPMG Women’s Irish Open is currently taking place in Dromoland Castle until this Sunday 3rd September.
The competition will feature ten Irish players including Leona Maguire, Aine Donegan and Olivia Mehaffey.
Extensive Transformation
Carton House, acquired by the Mullen family, has gone through an extensive transformation after being closed for two years.
The new incarnation has changed around the previous design, with the focus now on the original Manor House as dominant feature of the resort.
It secured five-star status shortly after it reopened in 2021 and became the first and only hotel on the island to come under the luxury Fairmont brand.
'Perfect Challenge'
"Carton House, Fairmont is an incredible venue and I’m really excited for the 2024 KPMG Women’s Irish Open to take place there," said Cian Branagan, tournament director of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open and CEO of Forefront Sports.
"The O’Meara course is the perfect challenge for the Ladies European Tour stars and the team has already been fantastic to work with. We look forward to a successful 2024 Championship as we move to the Leinster region with our title partners, KPMG."
'Huge Attraction'
"With two magnificent Championship Golf Courses here at Carton House, golf is at the heart of the estate and a huge attraction for guests from here and overseas," said Martin Mangan, general manager of Carton House, Fairmont.
"It's a great privilege to host the 2024 KPMG Women’s Irish Open and we are looking forward together with the whole team in hosting this event and a fantastic weekend of golf, welcoming the best golfers from Ireland and around the world."
