Ballymaloe Country House hotel is reaping the benefits of Ireland's booming tourism trade, with profits at the renowned property almost tripling last year.
The country house hotel and restaurant, which is run by the Allen family in Co Cork, filed abridged accounts that show the company recorded a €71,478 profit for the 12 months ending 31 October 2016, as accumulated profits rose from €2.16 million in 2015 to €2.24 million last year, reports The Irish Times, which adds that the company recorded a €185,933 loss in 2013.
Ballymaloe House employs 48 people with staff costs rising to €1.7 million in 2016 from €1.6 million in the prior year, with directors’ remuneration totalled €549,986.
