Andras Hotels is investing £6.6 million in the refurbishment of Portrush's old Londonderry Hotel as part of a project that could create up to 90 new employment opportunities for the area.
According to The Belfast Telegraph, the group's plans for the hotel include the construction of a new extension at the rear of the site with air-conditioned bedrooms, while priority is also being placed on preserving the exterior of the listed buildings which face the town's Main Street.
Director of Andras Hotels Rajesh Rana asserted, "Our vision is for an attractive, fully functional and boutique hotel that will bring this important site back to life as a hotel and will help to regenerate the Main Street and town centre area.
"The proposals are for a boutique hotel with 87 bedrooms, that will go a long way towards helping Portrush and the north coast meet the growing demand for modern tourist accommodation."
