Adare Manor has announced that it is now home to the largest figurative bronze sculpture ever made in Ireland. The sculpture of a bear, which stands at four metres tall, was produced by Irish artist Patrick O’Reilly and now resides on the grounds of the Co. Limerick hotel.
The sculpture, titled ‘In Search of Lost Time’, shows the bear marching forward and is said to represent our lives with an air of optimism as we all march on taking on the wonders of life.
Adare Manor general manager Paul Heery said, “The Bear is generating a huge amount of interest from the team at Adare Manor and our guests, who have had a sneak peek at this masterpiece by Patrick O’Reilly. We are delighted to have this sculpture on the grounds of Adare Manor for all guests and team to enjoy prompting happy memories of their childhood.”
Meanwhile, O’Reilly explained, “The Bear allows viewers to revisit the essence of their past, leading to flashbacks and recollections of preceding times. That significant memory involves events long past with happy and joyous nostalgia, but with an awareness that life moves on.”
