Dalata Hotel Group's latest UK property, the Clayton Hotel City of London, has officially opened for business.
The four-star venue, which is situated adjacent to Aldgate East Underground Station and in close proximity to the new Liverpool Street and Whitechapel Crossrail stations, is the eighth Clayton to open in the UK and the third London hotel in the group, joining Clayton Hotel Chiswick and Clayton Hotel Cricklewood.
Multi-Million Pound Investment
The hotel was acquired for a total consideration of £91 million (€100 million) and includes 212 bedrooms, a Grill restaurant, a bar and an onsite fitness suite. It is the first of several Clayton hotel openings planned for the UK as part of a multi-million-pound investment throughout the Clayton network.
Clayton Hotel City of London general manager James Feeney commented, "We’re delighted to be opening a new hotel in Aldgate East to build on the already successful network of Clayton hotels in London at Chiswick and Cricklewood. This new hotel gives us a presence in a key central location within the city and is ideally located for corporate guests who want to be close to the City of London, and leisure guests visiting the many attractions that the city has to offer."
