American hotel group Hyatt is set to enter the Irish hotel market with the opening of a new property in the Liberties of south Dublin in May of 2019.
Planned to operate under the Hyatt Centric brand, the €50 million, 234-bedroom, four-star hotel is currently being developed by the Hodson Bay Group opposite the capital's St. Patrick's Cathedral, as reported by The Irish Times.
Despite objections by An Taisce to the hotel's construction on the site, the project was approved following strong support from Fáilte Ireland.
When completed, the Hyatt Centric Liberties will be operated by Hodson Bay under a franchise agreement with Hyatt and will employ 280 people.
