The green light has been given to Abbey Limited to proceed with the development of a new nine-storey, 560-bed hostel on Dublin's Abbey Street.
In the wake of Dublin City Council's rejection of the firm's initial proposal in 2017, HKR Architects submitted an appeal on Abbey Limited's behalf, which led to An Bord Pleanála overruling the council's decision based on the belief that the venue would "contribute positively to the animation of the area and will provide an active use in itself."
The project will involve the demolition of several buildings currently located on the hostel's proposed site at numbers 35 - 36 Abbey Street in the centre of Dublin city.
