Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air has said that its passenger numbers decreased by 59% year-on-year in September as the surge of coronavirus infections across Europe holds back travel.
Capacity
Wizz said that last month it flew 60% of the capacity that it flew last September on planes that were 65% full.
Muted Winter
Over the last month, many European countries have brought back travel restrictions to attempt to curb the spread COVID-19, prompting Wizz to warn that the winter will be muted and that it will only operate at half capacity in October.
