Crowe, the Irish accountancy and business advisory practice, has announced the appointment of Weldon Mather as director of hotel, tourism and leisure (HTL).
Mather will provide a wide range of services to those involved in the HTL sector, including owners, developers, financial institutions and industry stakeholders.
The role includes strategic advisory, asset management, planning and development, positioning and repositioning, debt advisory, transaction services, and expert witness and litigation support.
Consultancy Practice
Crowe’s dedicated HTL department is one of the leading consultancy practices serving the HTL industry in Ireland.
Since 1995, Crowe has produced the annual Hotel Industry Survey for the Irish market, which serves as a benchmarking tool for the sector and provides analysis by region, classification, and hotel size.
Its dedicated HTL division (Horwath HTL) is the oldest and largest hotel-and-tourism consultancy practice in the world.
Thirty Years’ Experience
Mather is an experienced hotel asset manager and has over 30 years’ experience in the HTL industry.
He joins Crowe from Fáilte Ireland, where he held the position of head of accommodation development, in which he was responsible for accommodation development, capacity growth, and national quality and standards.
Asset Management Assignment
During his career, Mather has advised across a wide range of projects and asset management assignments.
He is a chartered surveyor (MRICS, MSCSI), a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and a certified hotel asset manager (Cornell).
