Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Catherine Martin joined Tourism Ireland in New York on Friday 21 October to promote Ireland.

Minister Martin’s schedule included a business round-table lunch with travel trade, carrier and media contacts from the tri-state area, including Aer Lingus, American Airlines, NBC, CIE Tours International, and Northstar Travel Group.
Second-Largest Market For Tourism
The United States is the second-largest source market for tourism to the island of Ireland, according to Tourism Ireland, which added that, in 2019, the island welcomed 1.7 million American visitors, and that the United States is its most important market in terms of revenue – responsible for 27% of all tourist revenue – with revenue generated by American visitors in 2019 being €1.6 billion.
