Tourism Ireland has said that last week’s visit to Ireland by the king and queen of the Netherlands was good news for tourism and provides a unique opportunity to convince potential Dutch holiday-makers to visit Ireland during 2019.
During their time in Ireland, the royal couple visited a number of the country's tourist attractions, including Trinity College, Cobh and Camden Fort Meagher.
Taking Opportunities To Exploit Tourism Potential
Tourism Ireland’s manager for the Netherlands, Karen van der Horst, stated, "Tourism Ireland will take every opportunity to exploit the tourism potential from the extensive publicity around the visit.
"In 2018, we welcomed almost 247,800 Dutch arrivals to Ireland. Tourism Ireland is undertaking an extensive programme of promotions throughout 2019 to highlight the island of Ireland in the Netherlands."
