Tourism Ireland in Germany kicked off its 2019 programme of promotions at CMT (holiday exhibition) in Stuttgart this week, where it is joined by 14 Irish and German tourism businesses.
CMT is one of the biggest travel fairs in Germany, attracting more than 265,000 visitors – or potential holidaymakers for Ireland – who are looking for ideas and suggestions for their next holiday. CMT also attracts leading tour operators and travel agents as well as around 1,500 travel journalists during its nine-day run.
"An Excellent Opportunity To Spread The Word"
Zoë Redmond, Tourism Ireland’s manager for Central Europe, said, "CMT in Stuttgart is our first travel fair of the year, providing an excellent opportunity to spread the word about the many great things to see and do on the island of Ireland, and to encourage German travellers to put Ireland on their holiday 'wish-list' for 2019.
"2018 was the eighth consecutive year of growth for German visitor numbers to the island of Ireland, when we welcomed around 780,000 German visitors. Tourism Ireland will roll out an extensive and targeted programme of activity throughout 2019 to keep the momentum going and build on that growth."
