Tourism Ireland has released a new St. Patrick's Day video narrated by Liam Neeson.
The video features footage shot at locations around Ireland, including Dingle, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, Kilkenny Castle, Derryclare Lough, Newgrange and Titanic Belfast, interwoven with images from Tourism Ireland's Global Greening initiative, which involves illuminating famous landmarks and iconic sites in green each year on St. Patrick's Day.
Even though St. Patrick's Day will be very different this year, Tourism Ireland is aiming to capitalise on the heightened exposure for Ireland around the globe on March 17 to ensure that Ireland remains "top of mind" as a holiday destination for bookings when the time is right.
Tourism Ireland Chief Executive Statement
Tourism Ireland chief executive Niall Gibbons stated, "We are extremely grateful to Liam Neeson for his generosity in agreeing to help us wish the world a happy St. Patrick's Day. Our new online film will be seen by our fans and followers on social media around the world, allowing us to mark St. Patrick's Day and to keep the island of Ireland to the fore in a positive light on the day when people everywhere are thinking about Ireland. This year, in particular, we aim to bring some positivity and hope to our diaspora across the globe. At a time when Irish people overseas cannot travel home, we want to give our diaspora a sense of connection with home and remind them that we cannot wait to welcome them back, as soon as it is possible to do so."
