A new €1million-plus advertising campaign has been launched by Tourism Ireland in a bid to capitalise on the country’s recent good news concerning improving visitor numbers.
The ad, which will be featured in print, on TV and in cinemas in Europe and stateside, kicked off earlier this week with a wrap-around ad on the front and back pages of Britain's Daily Telegraph.
The ad features images of the Cliffs of Moher and Powerscourt Gardens.
It's reported that CEO of Tourism Ireland Niall Gibbons has said, "The British market performed for well in 2014, [up by] six per cent."
Another component of the campaign includes a collaboration with the Daily Mail online to promote Dublin as a tourist destination and a hot spot and to highlight top spots where stars, such as Rihanna, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, hang out while they’re in town.
"We are determined to ensure that the tourism growth we have seen continues," Gibbons added.
Gibbons said the aim was to welcome a record 7.74 million visitors to Ireland in 2015.
