Tourism Ireland has launched a new campaign in Germany called "Galway 2020".
"Galway 2020" is part of Tourism Ireland's programme of promotions that are designed to highlight the island of Ireland to the "culturally curious" audience in Germany.

Tourism Ireland's manager for central Europe, Peter Nash, stated, "We're delighted to announce 'Galway 2020' here in Germany, and to highlight the city as 'European Capital of Culture' next year. Tourism Ireland's message for our 'culturally curious' audience is that the island of Ireland offers world-class festivals and cultural experiences. The 'culturally curious' travellers are typically independent, active sightseers, looking to visit new places and expand their experience by exploring culture, history and landscapes. Our aim is to encourage this important demographic to travel to Galway and the island of Ireland."
