The Number Of People That Flew With Norwegian Air In January Declined By 96% Year-On-Year

Norwegian Air has released its traffic figures for January, revealing that the number of passengers that flew with the airline last month declined by 96% year-on-year to 74,224 due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

Capacity, Total Passenger Traffic And Load Factor

Meanwhile, the airline's capacity declined by 98%, its total passenger traffic declined by 99% and its load factor declined by 45 percentage points to 35.9%.

Number Of Aircraft And Percentage Of Scheduled Flights Operated

Norwegian Air operated an average of eight aircraft in January, mainly on domestic routes in Norway.

Additionally, the airline operated 96.8% of its scheduled flights in January and 90.4% of its flights departed on time last month.

CEO Statement

In a statement published on Norwegian Air's website, the airline's CEO, Jacob Schram, said, "The pandemic continues to have a negative impact on our business as travel restrictions remain. We are doing everything in our power to come out of the examinership as a stronger, more competitive airline, and we look forward to welcoming more customers on board as travel restrictions are lifted."
