The Shannon College of Hotel Management will incorporate with NUI Galway to become the first course of its kind in an Irish university.
Jan O’Sullivan, Minister for Education and Skills, was in Shannon this week to mark the event. The Shannon College courses have been aligned with existing courses at the university and will operate the same system in two locations.
Speaking to the Clare Herald, the Minister said: “Shannon College of Hotel Management’s international standing and track-record of success is almost unrivalled for a college of its size, with its alumni as leaders in the hospitality industry globally."
"The incorporation into NUI Galway illustrates the benefits of greater cohesion across the third level sector nationally and in providing a greater return from available resources and I congratulate both on this and wish them every success going forward.”
Shannon College of Hotel Management is one of the world's leading hotel schools, offering two Level 8 honours bachelors degrees in business studies and hotel management.
