Ryanair has announced it will launch its own car hire website as the airline struck a deal this week with online car rental aggregator, CarTrawler.
The move comes after Hertz ended its exclusive car hire contract with Ryanair in July, claiming the airline's use of third-party sites was a breach of contract.
Dublin-based CarTrawler is an online aggregator that will offer Ryanair customers a direct connection to over 1,500 car rental agents in over 30,000 locations, across 174 different countries.
“Following an extensive tender process, Ryanair is pleased to partner with CarTrawler, who offer the best conversion rate in the business, as we launch Ryanair Car Hire, offering the widest range and best value car rental service to our 103m customers," said Ryanair chief Michael O'Leary in a statement.
Ryanair Car Hire will go live on the airline’s website from Tuesday 1 September 2015.
