Ryanair Expands Services, Including New Amsterdam Route

Ryanair has unveiled a significant expansion of it routes, including a new Amsterdam route and extra flights on existing services.

The airline will increase its weekly flight numbers by 15 per cent, according to the Irish Independent. The new route to Amsterdam will commence 27 October.

The carrier expects to fly 11.75 million passengers to and from Dublin next year, an increase of over one million on 2015. Extra flights to destinations such as Berlin, London Gatwick and Madrid will be added in the coming months.

In total, it will operate 83 routes from Dublin next summer. The airline carried over ten million passengers in both July and August this year, which it claimed was a first for any airline.

Chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs also predicted "very, very aggressive" price competition in the winter months this year due to falling oil prices.
