Profits at the company that operates Co. Galway's Kylemore Abbey, Kylemore Abbey & Gardens Ltd, doubled last year to €1.65 million.
Meanwhile, revenues generated from Kylemore Abbey and its Victorian walled gardens rose by 6% to over €8 million, as reported by The Irish Independent.
Approximately 526,000 people visited Kylemore Abbey last year, which made its Ireland's second most visited visitor attraction outside of Dublin after the Cliffs of Moher.
Charitable Donation And Rent
Kylemore Abbey & Gardens Ltd made an €800,000 charitable donation to the nun-owned Kylemore Trust from its profits last year.
The Kylemore Trust also charged Kylemore Abbey & Gardens Ltd €800,000 in rent.
