Newly-filed accounts for Aer Lingus indicate that the airline's pre-tax profit rose from €226 million to €270 million in 2017, with passenger revenue amounting to just under €1.8 billion.
According to The Irish Independent, the airline paid a dividend of €200 million to its UK-based holding firm last year, which was the first time Aer Lingus has paid a dividend since it was acquired by IAG in 2015. The airline's UK-based holding firm subsequently paid a dividend of €125 million to IAG.

Additionally, the amount paid to Aer Lingus directors rose from €3.4 million in 2016 to €4.3 million last year.
