According to data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), over 2.5 million passengers used Dublin, Cork, Knock and Shannon airports in December 2022.

The number of people who passed through Dublin Airport last year increased by over three times, year on year – 15% below 2019/pre-pandemic numbers – according to a statement published on CSO.ie, which also noted that the number of passengers in Dublin Airport in December last year was close to twice that of December 2021, but 95% of the level seen in the same month in 2019, with 2,520,293 passengers being handled by Dublin, Cork and Knock airports last month, compared to 2,571,290 in December 2019, according to the statement published on CSO.ie.

Additionally, the same statement noted that Ireland West Airport Knock was closed from April to June 2020 and from February to May 2021, Cork Airport was closed in October 2021, and Kerry and Shannon data was not available at the time of the publication of the statement.
