Tourism Ireland’s 2019 sales mission to India and the UAE has kicked off, with a delegation of tourism companies from the island of Ireland participating in the targeted sales mission to grow tourism from both markets.
Over the past few days, companies from Ireland, including hoteliers, visitor attractions and destination management companies, have been meeting and concluding deals with around 300 tour operators and travel agents in Mumbai, New Delhi, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The delegation has also been meeting influential travel journalists and bloggers, highlighting why the island of Ireland is a good choice for a holiday.
"A Key Element"
Siobhan McManamy, Tourism Ireland’s director of markets, commented, "Our sales mission is a key element of our promotional programme in India and the UAE, as we kick-start our activity for 2019. It gives our tourism partners a platform to inform travel professionals in both markets about what the island of Ireland has to offer and, importantly, encourage them to include the destination in their brochures and programmes. Tourism Ireland is committed to growing visitor numbers from emerging tourism markets and our sales missions play a significant role in helping us achieve this goal."
