A Record 2.8m Travellers Passed Through Dublin Airport In April

The number of travellers that passed through Dublin Airport in April rose 7% to 2.8 million, making last month the busiest April in the airport's history.

Continental Europe And UK Traffic

As reported by Dublin Airport's website, passenger volumes to and from continental Europe increased 9% to almost 1.5 million passengers, and UK traffic increased 2%, with close to 877,000 passengers travelling to and from the UK during the month.

Transatlantic, Other International And Domestic Traffic

Meanwhile, transatlantic passenger volumes rose 16% to almost 344,000 passengers; other international traffic, mainly to the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific region, increased 2%, with just over 80,500 passengers travelling to and from these destinations in April; and domestic traffic declined by 3%, with more than 8,000 passengers travelling on domestic routes last month.

Connection Figures

Additionally, the number of travellers that used Dublin Airport as a hub to connect to another destination in April increased by 9% to more than 171,000 passengers.

First Four Months

Over 9.3 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport during the first four months of 2019 - a 7% increase on the figure for the same period last year.
