Tourism Ireland, in association with Aer Lingus, invited representatives of leading German travel agency RTK and tour operator DER Touristik to Northern Ireland.
Following an itinerary devised by Tourism NI, the group visited Belfast, stopping off at City Hall and Titanic Belfast. They also enjoyed a drive along the Causeway Coastal Route, with a visit to the Giant’s Causeway, before arriving in Londonderry for a walking tour of the city’s historic walls. The aim of their visit is to educate them about Northern Ireland so that they are better equipped to sell the destination to their clients when they return home.
Zoë Redmond, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Central Europe, said, "Our aim is to really enthuse them about the destination, to ensure they are better equipped to advise their clients, when planning and booking their holidays. Germany is an important market for tourism to Northern Ireland. Latest figures published by NISRA confirm growth of +13% in visitors from Mainland Europe in the first half of 2017."
