Ireland West Airport Knock will play host to more than 20,000 passengers during the June bank holiday weekend.
Details
According to a statement published on IrelandWestAirport.com, passenger numbers during the June bank holiday weekend will be close to 20% higher than during the same period in 2022, and 10% higher than during the pre-pandemic June 2019 bank holiday weekend, with this being the busiest June bank holiday weekend that the airport has ever experienced.
Statement By Ireland West Airport Knock’s Managing Director
The statement published on IrelandWestAirport.com quoted managing director Joe Gilmore as saying, “The June bank holiday is always one of our busiest weekends of the year, and this year we are expecting record passenger numbers, which is testament to the increasing popularity of the airport amongst people living particularly in the west, north-west, and midlands regions. This weekend also sees the return of our popular sun services to the likes of Barcelona and Cologne, which will be a further boost for what we expect to be the busiest summer period on record at the airport. This is a further vote of confidence this summer, as we increase our choice of destinations, offer enhanced flight schedules and the general convenience and value for money the airport offers, both for flights and airport car-parking, combined with the popularity of the airport as the western gateway for the Wild Atlantic Way.”
