Fáilte Ireland has released the names of the 15 Irish towns that have been shortlisted for the Tourism Towns Awards 2015.
The Irish Times reports that Co Kerry has five towns featured on the list while Co Cork is close behind in the running with three.
Established in 2012, the awards focus on local communities who work hard to develop and improve their towns.
The finalists, which include Kilkenny, Co Kilkenny (pictured above) and Belmullet, Co Mayo will also be judged by 'secret shoppers' in the coming weeks before the list gets narrowed down to 10.
The winner of the best large and small tourism town will be announced in November.
