More than 200,000 golf fans in Britain – and potential golf holidaymakers for Ireland – are set to read all about Ireland's world-class golf, following a visit by leading British golf journalists. The journalists – representing media outlets like the Liverpool Echo, Wolverhampton Express, Shropshire Star, Tee Times magazine, Sussex Life magazine and etc magazine – were in the country as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The group had the opportunity to test their skills at the Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club and Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort in Co. Cavan, as well as at Concra Wood Golf & Country Club in Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan.
“We were delighted to invite these leading British golf journalists to Ireland, to experience some of our top courses for themselves,” said Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain. “Tourism Ireland in Britain has an extensive programme of promotions under way, to highlight our world-class golf and encourage more British golf holidaymakers to consider a golfing holiday in Ireland. Our message is that the island of Ireland offers international golfers the complete package – with some of the very best golf in the world, stunning scenery and the warmest of welcomes.”
