The island of Ireland was promoted to leading tour operators and travel agents from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland at Tourism Ireland’s 2019 Nordic trade workshop, which took place in Copenhagen last week.
Twenty-seven tourism companies from the island of Ireland took part in the workshop, meeting and doing business with the Nordic tour operators to encourage them to extend their Ireland offering, or to include Ireland for the first time, in their brochures and programmes.
"An Important Market For Tourism"
Aileen Hickey, Tourism Ireland’s manager Nordic Region, commented, "We are delighted that so many key Nordic travel professionals took the time to come and meet with our partners from the island of Ireland to learn about our superb tourism offering. The Nordic Region is an important market for tourism to Ireland, with CSO figures for 2018 indicating around 259,200 Nordic arrivals, an increase of 2.4% on 2017. We will roll out an extensive programme of promotions throughout 2019, to keep the momentum going and build on that success."
