Minister for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring accompanied Tourism Ireland and 70 tourism enterprises from all around Ireland at World Travel Market (WTM) in London.
Now in its 34th year, the WTM is the biggest B2B event on the global travel and tourism calendar. It has almost 50,000 international representatives from the travel industry and 3,000 influential media personnel in attendance. It is reported that over £1.8 billion’s worth of business was transacted at the event last year. This year, a record 70 Irish tourism enterprises, including hotels, hostels, visitor attractions, ferry companies, coach hire companies, incoming tour operators, are exhibiting at the Tourism Ireland stand.
Exhibitors will engage in thousands of meetings with international tour operators over the next four days. This will involve networking, negotiating and exchanging essential contracts for 2014. The Wild Atlantic Way will be a major focus of Tourism Ireland’s activity in 2014.
“The record number of our Irish tourism partners on the Tourism Ireland stand at WTM this year is extremely welcome and essential in the highly competitive global marketplace." said Niall Gibbons, chief executive of Tourism Ireland
