Tourism Ireland has teamed up with TripAdvisor to promote Ireland’s Ancient East to holidaymakers in France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden. The campaign will run until late July and is targeting people planning a short break or holiday, including those considering competitor destinations.
The promotion features banner ads on the TripAdvisor site, directing people to an Ireland’s Ancient East webpage on TripAdvisor, featuring travel deals, a video and inspirational ideas.
“We are delighted to partner with TripAdvisor once again, to highlight Ireland’s Ancient East to holidaymakers in Mainland Europe,” said Finola O’Mahony, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Europe. “Our campaign aims to enthuse our ‘culturally curious’ audience about the many things to see and do in Ireland’s Ancient East, encouraging them to book now.
“In 2017, around 3.4 million visitors from Mainland Europe visited the island of Ireland, generating revenue of almost €2 billion for the economy. And the good news is that we’ve seen really good results from Mainland Europe so far in 2018, with visitor numbers up over 12% for the first five months of the year, when compared with the same period in 2017. Tourism Ireland has an extensive programme of promotions under way across Mainland Europe, to ensure that success continues.”
