TripAdvisor has released a new listing of countries with the highest percentage of TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence recipients, with Ireland being ranked as the second-best country in the world for excellent service.
TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence are presented to accommodations, restaurants and experiences using an algorithm that the company says "takes into account the quality, quantity, and recency of user reviews", as reported by The Irish Independent.
TripAdvisor's full top ten list of the world's "Most Excellent" countries in 2018 is:
- Iceland
- Ireland
- United Kingdom
- Greece
- Morocco
- France
- The Netherlands
- Italy
- Portugal
- Belgium
Meanwhile, at a city level, Dublin was ranked as the sixth-best global city for excellent service, with TripAdvisor's full top ten list of the world's "Most Excellent" cities in 2018 being:
- Key West, USA
- Reykjavik, Iceland
- Edinburgh, UK
- Marrakech, Morocco
- Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- Dublin, Ireland
- Bali, Indonesia
- Krakow, Poland
- Glasgow, UK
- New Orleans, USA
