It is with sadness and regret that all those who work at Hospitality Ireland have learned of the passing of Andrew O'Gorman.
Andy was the author of many excellent books on the licensed trade, an honorary life member of the Irish Guild of Sommeliers, and former Head of Department at DIT running licensed trade courses. He was also a great friend to Hospitality Ireland Magazine, and judge of the National Hospitality Awards for over ten years.
In everything, Andy was courteous and kind. He went out of his way to help, and could always be relied upon to offer advice and assistance where needed. Andy’s knowledge of his profession was profound, and he was generous about sharing it. He was someone whose experience and judgement we relied on many times, as well as his remarkable network of friends and colleagues.
We wish the very best at this sad time to Andy’s family, of whom he spoke often, and to his many friends.
