The annual Great Taste Awards, which celebrates the best of speciality food and drink in the UK and Ireland, has revealed its winners for 2016.
Known as the 'Oscars of the food world', over 400 judges blind-tasted 10,000 products in a variety of categories, before giving out one to three star ratings. This year only 141 products achieved three-star status, however a number of Irish products made it onto the list, such as Nobó Irish salted caramel ice cream, Durrus cheese, James Whelan Butchers heritage cured ham and Supervalu's Signature Tastes Hereford rib eye steak.
While some of the United Kingdom's three-star entries included haggis from Donaldsons of Orkney, Bermondsey Street Honey, beer from Thornbridge Brewery and brioche from Harrods.
There will be a final round of voting where a Top 50 list will be compiled from all the three-star winners, as well as the 'The Golden Forks' which chooses the biggest winners and will be announced at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on September 5.
