Fáilte Ireland has collaborated with An Post to launch the Wild Atlantic Way passport, with the aim of encouraging even greater visitor exploration along the west coast touring route.
The passport will cost €10 and can be bought at over 130 Post Office's at different locations on the route.
The Wild Atlantic Way has 188 'Discovery Points' with the passport providing visitors with a recorded souvenir of their journey to visit all these points, and the hope that they will return in the future to get them all.
Each passport will have separate sections for each of the routes zones and there will be the opportunity to get unique stamp designs from local Post Offices. There will also be Wild Atlantic Way themed gifts available each time a passport holder gets 20 new stamps.
Fáilte Ireland’s Head of the Wild Atlantic Way, Fiona Monaghan, commented: "By encouraging visitors to visit local towns to get their passport stamped in the Post Office, we also hope the passport will help increase tourist activity and engagement with people and places along the route. The passport is also neatly placed to encourage a return trip for those that have part-completed their passport."
