Fáilte Ireland has launched a new look website for domestic tourists.
DiscoverIreland.ie has been redesigned to act as a one-stop shop for domestic tourists, showcasing an assortment of things to see and do across the country.
"Reliable Information"
Fáilte Ireland's head of digital marketing, Claire Cadogan, stated, "We know through our latest research that 60% of Irish people are planning a domestic break in Ireland in the next five to six months. People want reliable information on things to do and see quickly, easily and more often on the go. We have built DiscoverIreland.ie with mobile users in mind, and the content puts the needs of the visitor first and makes planning domestic breaks easy and fun.
"The site features unique local content and hidden gems, which people want more and more of, as well as the traditional well-known attractions and sights, presented in a way that caters to all visitor demographics and interests. There's a big focus on destinations and interests such as walking, nature and water sports as our research shows that's what people look for first when planning and are keen to explore now that we can get back out and take a break."
Safety Charter
The symbol of Fáilte Ireland's COVID-19 "safety charter", which was created to help businesses boost trade by showcasing their commitment to following all recommended safety and cleaning guidelines, will be featured on all of DiscoverIreland.ie's listings of tourism businesses that have signed up to the charter.
"Driving More Referrals"
Cadogan added, "A feature of DiscoverIreland.ie is driving more referrals to the websites of tourism businesses. We need businesses to ensure they are listed and to keep those listings updated using new and vibrant imagery so we can best capture and engage visitors in all of the brilliant things to see and do across the country."
Tourism businesses can get listed on on DiscoverIreland.ie or update their listing by visiting www.failteireland.ie/get-listed.
