Fáilte Ireland launched an expansion of its Historic Towns Trail initiative in Drogheda, Co. Louth, this week.
The initiative brings the stories behind several historical towns in Ireland's Ancient East to life through modern and newly-updated Historic Towns Trail signage, and is designed to encourage visitors to stay longer and explore the wider Ancient East region.
Drogheda is the latest town in Ireland's Ancient East in which the new signage has been installed. Updated signage was installed last year in towns in counties Wexford, Waterford, Carlow, Kildare and Monaghan, and updated signage will be installed in six more towns over the next few months.
Helping To "Shape A Compelling And Engaging Visitor Experience"
Fáilte Ireland's head of Ireland's Ancient East, Jenny De Saulles, commented, "History and storytelling are at the core of the Ireland's Ancient East brand, and the Historic Towns signage unveiled in Drogheda will help shape a compelling and engaging visitor experience for tourists to the town."
