Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland have collaborated to get a group of luxury travel agents to include Ireland into their travel programme.
The group, which represents the high end market in countries such as Australia, Germany and France, visited Ireland and experienced a bespoke itinerary that would reflect what their clients would want from a visit. The itinerary gave the travel agents the chance to learn more about Ireland's three major tourism brands: The Wild Atlantic Way; Dublin – A Breath of Fresh Air; and Ireland's Ancient East.
It saw them visiting Brown Thomas in Dublin's city centre, having lunch at Birr Castle, horse riding at Ashford Castle and visiting the coast of Clare.
Paul Mockler, Fáilte Ireland’s Head of Business Development, said: "We are delighted to be given an opportunity to promote and highlight what our various tourism brands have to offer. These visiting travel agents represent a high end and lucrative segment of the market and their interest in learning more about Ireland, is a testimony to the strength of our attraction."
