The board of easyJet has been re-elected for another year.
According to The Irish News, the airline's chief executive, Johan Lundgren, and chairman, John Barton, each won just over 57% of the vote. EasyJet's founder and largest shareholder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, wanted the airline to drop a £4.5 billion contract to purchase 107 planes from Airbus, and called for a vote to remove four directors, which failed after other shareholders lined up against him.
Additionally, easyJet finance director Andrew Findlay has announced that he will step down in May of this year.
Deferral Of Aircraft Deliveries
The above news follows news reported by Reuters last month that easyJet has agreed with Airbus to defer the delivery of a number of aircraft.
