EasyJet has announced that it has appointed Sophie Dekkers as its new chief commercial officer.
Dekkers has worked with easyJet since 2007 in a variety of roles, the most recent of which was customer director. During her time at the airline, she has also served as easyJet's UK country director, director of scheduling and head of business.
As chief commercial officer, Dekker will be responsible for network and planning, scheduling, and commercial and digital.
Dekker's appointment follows the resignation of Robert Carey, and she will begin working as chief commercial officer with immediate effect.
Group markets director Thomas Haagensen will take over Carey's responsibilities for the marketing and customer teams as the airline's group marketing & markets director.
"Delighted"
In a statement published on easyJet's website, the airline's CEO, Johan Lundgren, said, "I am delighted to have appointed Sophie Dekkers as chief commercial officer. She has a wealth of experience at easyJet in a diverse range of roles, so the huge depth and breadth of knowledge of the airline and commercial acumen will serve us very well going forward. I look forward to welcoming Sophie to the management board."
