Fáilte Ireland has announced that this year's Dublin New Year's Festival has been cancelled.

In a statement published on its website, Fáilte Ireland said, "Following the Government's announcement of new public health measures, Fáilte Ireland, in conjunction with Dublin City Council and their event partners, has taken the decision to cancel the festival."

Fáilte Ireland added, "Ticketholders will be contacted directly over the coming days and will receive a full refund."
