The number of people that passed through Dublin Airport decreased by 12% in June when compared to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels in June of 2019 to a little more than 2.8 million, but passenger traffic in June increased by 373,000 passengers when compared to June of last year, according to a statement published on Dublin Airport's website.
Europe, UK And North America Traffic
Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe declined by 7% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels in the sixth month of the year, but increased by 1.4 million travellers compared to the same month last year, while passenger traffic to and from the UK declined by approximately 18% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels to close to 720,000 passengers, which was an increase of approximately 655,000 when compared to June of 2021, and passenger traffic to and from North America declined by 15% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels to approximately 400,000 passengers, which was an increase of approximately 365,000 passengers compared to June of 2021, according to the statement published on Dublin Airport's website.
Other International And Domestic Traffic
Meanwhile, international passenger traffic declined by 31% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels in June to approximately 65,000 passengers, which was an increase of 60,000 when compared to 2021, and the number of people who travelled on domestic routes in June of this year increased by 33% compared to June of 2019 to a little less than 13,000, which was an increase of close to 11,000 when compared to June of 2021, according to the statement published on Dublin Airport's website.
Second Quarter
The number of people who passed through Dublin Airport between April and June of 2022 declined by approximately 13% compared to the same period in 2019 to close to eight million, which was an increase of 1,210% when compared with the same period in 2021.
First Six Months
The number of people who passed through Dublin Airport during the first six months of 2022 declined by approximately 23% compared to the same period in 2019 to over 12 million, which was an increase of 1,054% when compared with the same period in 2021.
