The number of people that passed through Dublin Airport decreased by 11% in July when compared to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels in July of 2019 to a little more than three million, but passenger traffic in July increased by 2.4 million passengers when compared to July of last year, according to a statement published on Dublin Airport's website.
Europe, UK And North America Traffic
Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe declined by 6% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels in the seventh month of the year, but increased by 1.3 million travellers compared to the same month last year, while passenger traffic to and from the UK declined by approximately 21% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels to close to 739,000 passengers, which was an increase of approximately 621,000 when compared to July of 2021, and passenger traffic to and from North America declined by 8% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels to 446,000 passengers, which was an increase of 384,000 passengers compared to July of 2021, according to the statement published on Dublin Airport's website.
Other International And Domestic Traffic
Meanwhile, international passenger traffic declined by 30% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 levels in July to 78,000 passengers, which was an increase of 63,000 when compared to 2021, and the number of people who travelled on domestic routes in June of this year increased by 32% compared to July of 2019 to 14,000, which was an increase of close to 13,500 when compared to July of 2021, according to the statement published on Dublin Airport's website.
First Seven Months
The number of people who passed through Dublin Airport during the first seven months of 2022 declined by approximately 20% compared to the same period in 2019 to over 15 million, which was an increase of 788% when compared with the same period in 2021.
