Just over 2.1 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in January of 2020, which was a 2% increase on the figure for January of 2019.
Europe And The UK
The number of people that travelled to and from continental Europe increased by 2%, with more than one million people travelling to and from European destinations, while UK traffic increased by 1%, with close to 755,000 people travelling on routes between Dublin and the UK during the month.
North America, Other International Traffic And Domestic Routes
Passenger volumes to and from North America increased by 4%, with more than 219,000 passengers taking transatlantic flights to and from Dublin in January, and other international traffic, primarily to and from the Middle East and north Africa regions, declined by 10%, with nearly 77,000 passengers travelling on those routes in January.
Meanwhile, more than 6,000 people travelled on domestic routes in January, which was up 10% compared to the same month last year.
Connecting Passengers
Additionally, the number of people who used Dublin Airport as a hub to connect to another destination increased by 3% in January, with almost 111,000 people connecting through Dublin Airport last month.
