New statistics released by Airports Council International have revealed that Dublin Airport had the fifth-highest passenger growth rate, and was the fourth-busiest airport, in Europe during August of 2017.
Some 3.07 million travellers passed through the airport in August, representing a 6.6% increase on the same month last year. Dublin Airport is currently on track to handle a total of 30 million passengers by year's end, which represents an increase of 2 million from 2016, reports The Irish Independent.
Meanwhile, the ACI data indicates that Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow was Europe's fastest growing airport in August, with passenger numbers rising 19.6% to 4.1 million, while figures for Istanbul Ataturk rose 10.6% to 6.6 million, Manchester Airport passenger numbers rose 7.9% to 3.1 million, and Oslo traffic increased 7.1% to 2.5 million.
