February of this year saw Dublin's air passenger traffic exceed the volume recorded for pre-COVID-19 pandemic February 2019, according to Airports Council International (ACI) Europe.
Europe Passenger Traffic
According to a statement published on ACI-Europe.org, passenger traffic across the European airport network increased by 48% year on year in the second month of this year, with the increase being mainly driven by international passenger traffic (+58%), while domestic passenger traffic (+22%) increased at a slower pace.
February 2023 passenger traffic in February 2023 was 12% below that of pre-pandemic February 2019, and nearly unchanged over from January 2023, when it was 11% below pre-pandemic levels. 40% of airports in Europe had recovered or exceeded their pre-pandemic volumes.
With a 53% increase, EU+ airports grew passenger traffic at the fastest pace in February compared to the same month in 2022, and when compared to pre-pandemic February 2019 levels, EU+ passenger traffic stood at -12% in the second month of this year.
Passenger traffic increased by 23% year on year in February of this year at airports in the rest of Europe, and was 11% below that of pre-pandemic February 2019.

Dublin air passenger traffic in the second month of this year was 2.4% higher than the level recorded for pre-pandemic February 2019.
Dublin air passenger traffic also increased year on year in February 2023.
