Delta Extends Blocking Of Middle Seats And Capping Of Seating

Delta Air Lines has announced that it is extending its blocking of the selection of middle seats and capping of seating in the cabins of its aircraft until September 30, 2020.

Capping Plans

The airline is capping seating at 50% for first class seats, 60% for main cabin, Delta Comfort+ and Delta Premium Select seats, and 75% for Delta One seats.

For services on which increasing customer demand is driving flight loads closer to its caps, Delta said that it will look for opportunities to upsize to larger aircraft types or add more flights.

"One Of The Most Important Steps We Can Take"

In a statement published on the airline's website, Delta chief customer experience officer Bill Lentsch said, "Reducing the overall number of customers on every aircraft across the fleet is one of the most important steps we can take to ensure a safe experience for our customers and people. Delta is offering the highest standards in safety and cleanliness so we're ready for customers when they're ready to fly again."
