Center Parcs Previews its New €200M Longford Site

UK holiday company Center Parcs has unveiled its plans for the proposed €200 million site in Co. Longford.

The Longford Forest resort, which will be located just outside Ballymahon, is expected to create 1,000 permanent jobs once the project is completed, and 750 jobs during the construction phase.

The company said the development could create an economic uplift of €1 billion for Ireland over the next 20 years. It is the first Center Parcs UK site outside of England.

The Irish Independent reports a detailed report on the €2000 million project was released by the company, which include artist impressions and scale models of the resort.

The Longford Forest resort will feature 500 lodges, a main centre, a spa and outdoor sports and leisure facilities and other amenities. The planning application will be submitted in autumn for approval by Longford County Council.

The resort is expected to open in 2019 after a two-year construction phase.
